TP 12/13 Students Project

Todd will teach Geography and Science this school year to his 10-year-old American 4th-graders in Massachusetts/USA. The main focus of his Geography lessons will be the U.S. states, capitals, U.S. regions, etc. In Science they'll work on electricity, invention, and the like.

During the entire last school year, his class very intensively dealt with what 4 U.S. children experienced  in your countries through a common written fairy tale (GSS story 2011/2012). This year let's turn the tables. Therefore, in this year's project, the question for your students outside the United States of America is:

What are your ideas (and imaginations) when you
are thinking of the U.S. ?

If you like this little project, simply ask your students to draw/paint a picture about this topic or to write some lines in the English language about their ideas and imaginations in terms of the United States of America.
Maybe even one or the other student has already visited the U.S. and additionally would like to tell about it with a tiny essay. It doesn't matter about what exactly is drawn or written. There are no limits to fantasy. However, it must relate to the topic of the USA. (Of course your kids also can make a short presentation, small video clip, or others if they like.) Send the pictures, presentations, clips, or tiny short-stories (a few lines are okay), until
28 February 2013
(as an email-attachment) to:
schwartzilse@yahoo.de

We will make it a nice and common collection of imagination and ideas about the USA by non-American kids abroad (and as a small gift to Todd's class in Palmer. In fact, after their hard editorial work on the GSS story during the entire past school year in Palmer, they really deserve it, right?) Please also note ages and class to the works of your students and your own name of course.

Additionally we are going to publish this final, common collection in spring / summer 2013 globally around the world.
